Hey Jeff,

The boot camp class at Kaplan sounds like the way to go. I signed up for the self study course with Kaplan about 5 years ago. Of course within that time, I got married, had two kids and have been working quite a bit. Also the CFP was a luxury and not a necessity for what I was doing. So I guess you can tell how the self study went.

I recently contacted Kaplan again to start back up with the self study but they say they are saying I took to long. So we are discussing that as I did pay in full for the course.

However, I did not know Kaplan also offered a live physical class like you went through. I will need to check and see if that is available in my area. Thanks for the tip.

Post was very helpful. I’m getting the education right now from American College. Hope to pass the exam in November.

I’m on the border as to take a live review course or buy a few CFP review course materials. It starting to seem like a live review is the best way to go.
