Spending and Debt Challenges to Get Involved In

This is an update from the Debt Movement where I’m helping people pay off $10 million in 90 days. Have debt and want to get it paid off for good? Join the Debt Movement here.

Wow! To say that I’m not blown away would be big fat lie.

The interest and support of the Debt Movement has been absolutely amazing. As I type this out we currently have over 600 people signed up and almost $17,000 of debt paid off in the first few days.

It’s happening.

We are changing people’s lives.

Paying Down Debt Together

In addition to the Debt Movement, there are some other great challenges going on helping you get out of debt and changing your spending habits.

One of the top New Year resolutions is to save more and stick to a budget. Research shows if you can change your behavior for 30 days you are likely to stick to your goals. Join the SaveUp 30 Day No Spend Challenge — and kick start the New Year right — and get in on some great cash rewards. Be a champion for your personal economic recovery.

How It Works

Choose any credit card in your wallet and commit to 30 days of no spending on that card by registering it for the SaveUp No Spend challenge.
The more days you check-in and stick to your challenge the more chances you have to win the grand prize of $5,000 to pay down your debt.

BONUS: Be a champion for change — share to bring others to the SaveUp No Spending Challenge and win an additional $5,000 in rewards.

The Debt Challenge

From Wednesday, January 2, 2012, to Sunday, January 27, 2012, AARP Money Coach Lynnette Khalfani-Cox is looking for who has the best ideas for reducing debt in the AARP Pay Down Your Debt Challenge. Are you actively taking steps to get out a hole? Can you visualize the day you have control over your finances? If so, this challenge is for you.

With the challenge there are also chances to win prizes as you go through the process. Nothing like getting rewarded for getting out of debt!

I’ve reached out to Lynette to participate in one of our upcoming Google Hangouts. She’s an awesome resource which makes AARP’s Pay Down Your Debt Challenge that much more enticing.

I think the debt challenge is a nobel cause. What I really wish is if we could target specific debt, maybe even that of our friends/family. For example, student loans is now the largest form of debt in the country and it’s on the poor kids who are all unemployed from Wall Street’s screw up. We need to lend them a helping hand!
