I'm an Apple fanboy.
A few years ago I got my first Macbook Pro and I haven't looked back.
If you were to visit the Rose household, you would see that the entire family is on the Apple bandwagon with 1 iMac, 2 Macbook Pro's, 1 iPad, 3 mini iPads, 1 Time Capsule and iPhone's galore.
Yeah, we love Apple.
When Nvestly, a new social investment platform, asked me to participate in a $2,500 Apple share giveaway to bring awareness to their recent launch I was totally onboard.
What is Nvestly?
Within Nvestly, users can follow Facebook friends or the network’s top performing investors, who are ranked based on their rate of return. Nvestly doesn’t display how much money users have sunk into various stocks. It instead shows a breakdown of their portfolio by percentage.
Nvestly launches its social investment platform, providing expert and novice investors an outlet to share investment information, to collaborate and to compete with friends, and to monitor their portfolios securely in one place. Nvestly was in private beta since March, and today it opens up the network to the public.
More from GFC, Below
Nvestly ranks its top users by investment performance for various timeframes: al time, one year, six months, one month, and one wek. During the beta period, Nvestly has attracted experienced investors onto the platform to share ideas and publish their latest trades. The top quartile investors in Nvestly's community have outperformed the S&P 50 on an absolute basis acros al timeframes. As of October 27, 2014, Nvestly's top decile investors have returned 31.4% for most recent year, nearly triple the S&P 50's 1.3%.
Nvestly is a social investment platform that allows users to follow top investors and see their real portfolio holdings. Similar to many companies like Mint.com, users can connect their brokerage accounts to see how they're stacking up against their friends and other investors.
Since their recent launch in October, Nvestly is currently managing over $25M in assets and the top decile investors are outperforming the S&P 500 for the last year. By bringing a social component to online investing, Nvestly allows users to follow top traders and collaborate on new investment ideas.
Nvestly never shares the exact dollar amount and is free to use.
