new years 20091 Weekly Round Up New Years EditionLet’s recap an exciting week. First, I came down with a sinus infection that still haunts me as I write this post. Second, my firm just moved into our new office. It’s an older brick building in downtown Carbondale, IL that has been totally redone. They did an amazing job and can’t wait to share more pictures in future posts to come. Lastly, we welcomed in 2009. Frankly, it couldn’t have got here any sooner. 2008 is a year that I’m sure that many are ready to put behind them as well, considering all what’s happened in the market this year.

Let’s see what are some good reads of the week:

Pete over at Bible Money Matters shares why setting goals is important. He even shares some of his own personal goals for the year. Good luck Pete on getting those goals!

J. Money at Budgets Are Sexy has a great story about a former bank employee and her adventures getting paid.  You have to check it out if you want a good chuckle.

Worried about losing your job?  Jeremy over at Gen X Finance has 5 tips to keep your job while unemployment is on the rise.

What’s harder than losing weight?  How about staying on a budget?  David over at My Two Dollars gives some good budgeting tips to start off the new year.
