If you’re looking to make money online, InboxDollars may be a good choice for you. Inbox Dollars is a site that allows you to take surveys online and get paid.

There are many survey sites and it can be hard to decipher which option is the best fit for you. We reviewed several survey sites to help you weed through the options.

This article is going to look at the advantages and disadvantages of InboxDollars. If you’re looking for a way to quit your job and just do survey sites, this isn’t the place for you, but if you want to have a little extra spending money every month, you should keep reading.

What Is Inbox Dollars?

InboxDollars connects brands with consumers.

According to InboxDolllars, brands need consumers to try new products, give feedback,
take surveys, watch targeted messaging/ads, and more. Instead of trying to recruit thousands of
participants several times a year, which is a lot of time and effort, it’s more efficient for brands to tap into the InboxDollars audience.

When a brand needs consumer feedback, they reach out to InboxDollars and pay InboxDollars to get the brand feedback they are looking for. When InboxDollars members complete tasks/surveys, InboxDollars shares a portion of their earnings with members.

HOW DOES INBOX DOLLARS WORK?

Getting started with Inbox Dollars is as easy as a few mouse clicks. All you have to do is create an account, which only requires basic info, and then you can start earning rewards points. You can get started in a matter of minutes.

After you create your account, you’ll have to answer some general questions about yourself and your household. Inbox Dollars will use these answers to determine which surveys you’ll be eligible for. These surveys are designed by other companies to be completed by their target audience, and they want to make sure that you fall into those categories. After you complete the initial questionnaire, you’ll be rewarded with $5! That was easy!

After you’ve completed the initial survey about yourself, then you can go over to the surveys tab and wait for any that you may qualify for. Each survey is different, the longer that the survey is, the more that you’ll earn when you finish it. Most of the surveys on Inbox Dollars give you between $.25 and $.50. There are a few much larger ones that will offer as much as $4, but those surveys are extremely involved, and you probably won’t be able to finish those on your lunch break.

After you’ve accumulated enough money, you can cash out your rewards and have Inbox Dollars send you a check for your earnings, and it’s as easy as that. You’ll get your first paycheck as a survey taker. To have them send you a check, you’ll have to rack up at least $30 before you’re eligible. This is a higher limit than some of the other competitors out there, but you’ll be surprised to see how quickly you earn that money and get your check.

It’s important to note that you will not be eligible for all surveys. Most surveys will require you to answer some screening questions to see if you are a good fit. Most brands are looking for a specific demographic and only need so many survey respondents.

Also, the more surveys you do, the more surveys you’ll qualify for.

The Advantages of Inbox Dollars

Here are the advantages of using InboxDollars.

Various ways to make money

One of the unique benefits of Inbox Dollars is that surveys are not the only way that you can earn money on the site. There are several other ways that you can earn money while sitting at the comfort of your home. In addition to the traditional surveys, you can also watch videos to earn some money.

I know this sounds too good to be true, and that’s because it partially is. Inbox Dollars will let you watch TV and videos, and you’ll get some cents for your views. These videos are segments of just random changes, and for each one, you’ll get a couple of cents. This is a great way to just sit in front of your computer and earn some spare change. At the end of the video, there will be an Inbox Dollars scratch-off card, which gives you the chance to make $10.

Another way that you can earn money is by just surfing the web. InboxDollars has a search engine that you can use, and if you keep using their search engine, you’ll get more entries into their sweepstakes. They have several different sweepstakes. If you’re going to be surfing the web anyways, you might as well use their engine.

You can also make money fast by playing some of the games on their website. They have a variety of simple games, card games, sports games, word games, and anything else. For every couple of games that you play, you’ll earn a couple of cents. These games are going to drastically boost your bank account, but it’s a fun way to earn some spending money while you wait on more surveys.

Simple to do in your free time

InboxDollars is simple to do in your free time or while you are sitting on the couch. Rather than scrolling through social media, you could be earning money by taking surveys, surfing the web and more.

Sign-up bonus and referral bonuses

One of the best advantages of Inbox Dollars is their referral program. For each friend you refer who signs up and activates their account, you can earn $1.00 per referral up to 5 referrals. In addition, InboxDollars offers you a way to earn an additional 30% on all qualified earning made by your referral! If you have some friends that have been wanting to get in the survey game, this is a great way for you to earn some extra cash.

The Disadvantages of Inbox Dollars

There are several drawbacks of Inbox Dollars.

Payout Amount

One of the most notable disadvantages is the amount that you’re going to get paid for each survey. Their payouts are smaller than you’ll find with other programs available, like MySurvey or Pinecone Research. Some of the surveys are going to be longer, but you won’t be making as much. If you are looking to maximize the amount of money that you make for clicking answers, you’ll need to look elsewhere. Most surveys pay between $0.25-$5.00.

Minimum payout is $30

If most of the surveys you take are for $0.25, it can take some time to reach the $30 threshold you need to cash out your payout. If you aren’t in a rush for extra cash, this isn’t that big of a deal, just something to be aware of.

How Does Inbox Dollars Compare?

Company Best For Worst For Sign-Up Bonus
InboxDollars Variety of ways to earn Low survey payouts $5
Survey Junkie Higher survey payouts Not many surveys offered $0
Swagbucks Access to exclusive deals Paid in Swagbucks, not real $ $10

You can read more information about Survey Junkie and Swagbucks to see which option is the best fit for you.

History Of Inbox Dollars

InboxDollars was created in 2000 by entrepreneur Daren Cotter from his college dorm room in Minnesota. Cotter wanted to create an online rewards club for users. They have millions of active members and since 2006, they have paid out over $60 million to their members in cash, PayPal and gift card rewards.

They have experienced tremendous growth since 2000 when they first opened their doors. They have created another branch of the company in the UK, InboxPounds.

Summary

According to their website, “InboxDollars is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It’s not a substitute for a regular full time or part-time employment. It’s just a convenient way to earn some extra cash on the side during your downtime. You can earn with InboxDollars from your PC, tablet, or smartphone—any screen device you use to access the Internet.”

Inbox Dollars isn’t going to make you a second income, but it’s a simple way that anyone can make some extra money.
